Sunshine

It's been raining all morning and off and on the past few days.  I even saw hail dime size fall for a few mins. All the gray clouds can really get to me. So I thought I would share a couple of pictures from two recent mornings without the rain. The top is on the St. John's River and the bottom is from the fishing spot Sunday.

Here's a song that made me smile this morning.

Sunday Morning

I started Sunday with a drive to the beach in Guana for sunrise 348. Then I hiked to the fishing spot to meet up with Chris, Brittney and Tyler. A very windy day but warm in the sun. Later in the afternoon Brittney caught a monster Drum Fish making for an epic dinner.

Wisteria and thoughts of summer

The lilacs wisteria have been in bloom for a little while. Early last week I took a walk around the neighborhood near my office and found these little guys. Spring has been here officially for a few days now and my thoughts are all ready turning to summer. This summer I have a dream - make this list of simple things come true. So here it is a little list of things that I will be doing this summer.
  1. See a concert - Radiohead would be nice :)
  2. Camp overnight on an island. (reachable by only ferry or private boat)
  3. Take an early morning guided nature hike.
  4. Avoid even one sunburn.
  5. Run long distance barefoot on the beach often.
  6. Build an impressive sandcastle.
  7. One old fashioned Ice Cream Sunday at Crucial Coffee Cafe.
  8. See Source Code, Your Highness, and Super 8
  9. Photograph Photograph Photograph
  10. Sleep in often :)
* A flickr friend pointed out that these little guys are actually Wisteria.

Super Moon

Here are some shots that I took Saturday at Jacksonville Beach.  I was impressed by how many people showed up to watch the moon rise.  The second last shot is me, it is my first time using the self timer on my camera.

Lunar Perigee

Tomorrow night when the full moon rises it will appear about 14 times larger than normal. Nasa is calling it a "super perigee moon".  You can learn about it on Nasa's website here. I plan on hitting up the beach tomorrow night with Chris, Brittany and my camera. Sunday I'll be with Ken and his family. I hope to have some pictures to share with you soon.

Have a great weekend.  I'll be back next week.

At the fishing spot

Last Sunday I joined Brittany (Top Left) and Chris (Top Right) for a fishing adventure at Guana River State Park just north of St. Augustine, Florida.   We started out very early to hit the beach for sunrise then a hike to the fishing spot. Everything was covered in thick fog that lingered for hours.  So while Brittany and Chris were busy catching fish for dinner I had some time to wander this lovely spot and snap my little heart away.  Above are some shots from my first roll.  I hope to share with you the second roll as soon as I finish it up.

Here's a remix I found in the Soundcloud that I've had on repeat this morning. - This Too Shall Pass.  Have a great weekend!

Sunset Walk

Last Saturday I took a short walk through Riverside with a couple of friends.  For the next month or so the weather will be perfect for afternoon walks - then comes the summer heat.  So while the weather is nice, and not hot, I plan on getting out and enjoying it.  Love the sign in the last picture.
