Here Comes the Sun

Here in Jacksonville, Florida we are living with the sun for a little over eleven hours and the days are still getting longer.  All the extra sun puts me in a good mood.

Today, I'm reminded of a song by The Beatles.  You know it...  Here's my favorite part.

Spring is just around the corner

I'm sure you are feeling it too.  Spring is in the air.  This weekend I spent a lot of time with my new (to me) camera - Nikon F3.  I have a bunch of learning, but I'm very happy with my first roll.  Above are some of my favorites.

Mystical Sunrise

This morning stands solely as my all time favorite sunrise to date.  Light pastel colors were everywhere, a soft misty fog hung low to the ground and everything was covered with due.  Everyone I passed was wearing a smile.  It felt like I was walking on a dream.  The first four are outtakes from sunrise 311, the fifth is 311 with edits.

First Walk-A-Bout

I had another great weekend.  Saturday, was mostly for rest and cleaning.  Sunday, I hit up the Beach Blvd. flea market and had a Nikon F3 in my hand.  The Camera Man walked me through all its features.  I plan on going back next weekend and picking it up.  He was only asking $225 for it.  Later, that afternoon, I did my first of many Walk-A-Bouts.  The photos above are my favorites - I was looking for pinks but really only found reds.  On the way home I spotted what I think will be my next shot for Twelve.  Sadly, I was all out of film.

Today is my muse's Birthday.  Happy Birthday Dawn!  Smile you are most loved!

On Pens – See through pens freak me out, and I prefer blue ink over black.

On Health – I lost 120 pounds over two years.  No Pills. No Diets.  As the weight came off I found that I was actually losing mental baggage.

On Faith - I believe that prayer is action.  That the sun is in the sky and that the sky is not falling.  My name is William Bernard Betzig and I am in control of my life.

On Fear – I have never found anything I can point to and say look this is fear.  It’s always in my mind.

On Shampoo – If I close my eyes and shampoo with Head & Shoulders I can remember my Grandfather’s house with perfect clarity.

On April 13th – I started taking pictures again on April 13, 2010.  I decided to take a picture every day at sunrise and during various moments.  It changed everything.

On Sleep – I sleep completely naked with very few exceptions.

On Love – I find it so easy to love everyone.  No exceptions.  i ii iii

On Automatic Happy – I get the best feeling in the world when friends say “Hello!” with a picture.  It is automatic no words are necessary.

On Life – Right now at this moment I have everything that I need and more than I deserve…’cause I have you in my life.  I love you more than yesterday but less than tomorrow.

January flew by super fast.  Where did all the time go?  Over the past month I started a few new projects.  The images above are for a project called Twelve hosted by Amanda.  Check out her blog mocking-bird.org I find it to be a true source of inspiration.  You can visit the group pool on flickr here.  Each month we will be shooting a new theme word and color - January's word was Wish and color theme was violet and white.
